Perspective and what we grow accustomed to changes everything about how we experience life. -From the Different devotional on the You Version Bible app
Scripture
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”
1 Peter 1:7-8 KJV
“These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,”
1 Peter 1:7-8 NIV
Observation
God knows we will go through struggles, trauma, and experiences in this life. But he is there even though we have never seen him. When we have felt the most alone he was there. Looking back on my life I know God was there with me when I was broken-hearted, afraid, and awestruck by life.
Application
Like Paul I have had to learn and relearn things God is teaching me. To see from his perspective. (Philippians 4:11-12) To live this life filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.
Prayer
God please continue to teach me to live a life full of joy even when it seems there is nothing to be joyful about.
