1 Peter 4:11-15

Scripture

'If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. '

1 Peter 4:11 KJV

'But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. ' 1 Peter 4:15 KJV

'If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. '

'If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. '

Observation

Speak as one who speaks the very words of God. Serve with the strength God provides. Rejoice as you participate in the sufferings of Christ. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ you are blessed For the spirit of Glory and God rests on you. Do not be a murderer, thief, criminal, or even a meddler.

Application

In order to speak the words of God you must read the words of God. You must be in a committed relationship with God. Because only through spending quality time with God can you know you are able to speak the words of God. Right now for me this looks like reading the Bible when I can everyday. Making it a priority. A must have or must do for my day. Praying at the same time every day. Listening to God as I go through my day. Being quicker to listen NOT speak as I go through my day. Relationships over being right, over my own opinion, over how I feel about something. Biblical worldview over other worldviews. Realizing not every conversation needs to be had. Not every remark needs to be addressed. If God is on my side and I am doing what he has commanded me to do. Then no one else’s opinion or comments matter. God will prove me right. My actions will speak the loudest. God will have the final say, always.

Prayer

God thank you for your word. Help me to live them out. To know when to speak and hold my tongue. To love others by serving them with the gifts and blessings you have given me. Amen.
