To start off the month of April, I will be going through these videos on How to Read the Bible by the Bible Project. The series is described as follows:

While the Bible is one unified story, it cannot all be read in the same way.

The How to Read the Bible series walks through each literary style found in the Bible and explains how each uniquely contributes to the overall story of Scripture. By understanding how the Bible was written, we can better understand what the Bible actually is.

This is the first video.

You can download notes for this video @

I will also be doing a study of 1st & 2nd Corinthians using an inductive study method similar to SOAP.

Scripture- write out the verses or passages of scriptures that speak to your heart

Observations- context, who, what, when, where, why, how, repeated words, descriptive terms, main nouns or verbs, significant sentence or conjunction

Interpretation- cross-reference, main verse, What does this passage mean?

Applications- (head) How is Jesus challenging my thinking? (heart) How is Jesus challenging my desires? (hands) How is Jesus challenging my actions?

Prayer- write out a short prayer

Hope you will join me in learning more about the Bible and read through 1st and 2nd Corinthians with me.
