Observation
This morning the words in these five verses that stood out to me the most were how we are redeemed from the empty way of life we lived before. As well as the words foreordained before the foundation of the world. God already had a plan and he knew that our life before him would be empty. Thanks God for having a better vision for my life than I could ever have.
Application
I love that these verses speak truth about how we should live in this world. That the bible speaks about such things with words that are so beautiful make helps me to grasp what I am reading and want more. I desire to keep reading because I am savoring the words, reading the Bible make me full. Any one else feel like that?? Living like I am a sojourner in this world and having a fear of God that's a reverent fear makes me live my life gratefully not by a checklist so I don't get in trouble. The Risen Motherhood podcast I listened to yesterday says it so much better than I could.
From the podcast: this doesn't just magically or mysteriously happen to us overnight.
We remember and we fill ourselves with truth that sets us free. We gain boldness and courage and the gospel by reading his word, spending time with him every single day and letting that be something that we are immersed in in our everyday lives. We cannot muster up the courage or just get our act together, or just get our feelings on straight, or whatever it is. We have to go back to the Word over and over and over again, and really invest that time in knowing who God is, if we’re going to know why we're confident that he is on our side. It ain't a one-time thing. If you're feeling better today, but then you feel fearful again tomorrow, that's normal. Get back in God's Word. Don't think that you failed, don't think that you've ruined anything or that you haven't been Christian enough, you're just human. get back in God's Word, remind yourself of truth, get some friends on a text chain, do what you need to do to help yourself remember what is true and what are lies from the pit of hell, frankly, and what you really should believe, and how the priorities of your heart should be set.
Prayer
God please help me to keep this desire alive in me to read your word, to know you more, and to be in your presence continually. Thank you for time today to sit in silence, to reflect on your word, and to be in community with others. Amen.
